Safer Routes to School

Latest Information Achievements Archive

The Safer routes to School Scheme is a Government Initiative that is active throughout the country. They are trying to encourage children to walk to school for health reasons. There would be a consequent reduction in road traffic and thus less Carbon emissions.

To keep the children safer on their way to school, The Highways Agency have made some improvements on the roads by lane narrowing, slow down signs, etc.

We have a very good school in the Valley, The Vale First and Middle for which there are children from all over the immediate area attending.

The A24 runs through the middle of Findon Valley and has recently had some improvements, but the School and the Findon Valley Society are still battling for more.

As well as the School's pupils we also have the residents of the Valley to consider, many of whom are elderly.
