Achievements up to 1999

 

  Scheduling of The Gallops as an open space.

 Provision of a children's playground.

Installation of the zigzag path from Vale Drive to Bost Hill.

Construction of the Branch Library, public toilets and bus shelters.

A campaign successfully halted further development east of Hollingbury Gardens and Sullington Gardens. Subsequently the developers were allowed to construct Long Meadow and Shepherds Mead and build on the west side only. They also donated the remaining land, extending the boundaries of the National Trust and Worthing Golf Club to Worthing Corporation as an open space.

Securing the dedication of the two public footpaths up to Cissbury Downs.

Installation of the Valley's first Pelican Crossing at King's Parade.

Collection of 1738 signatures to the A27 petition.

Improved street lighting in Findon Road.

 Opening of the Television Relay Station on West Hill, thus improving TV reception throughout the Valley.
